Vision
To make the combination of sport, special interest, culture, and the natural beauty of the Indonesian archipelago a driving force in promoting regional tourism, nationally and internationally.
Indonesia Sport & Special Interest Tourism Association
An ecosystem builder, not just an association. ISSITA exists to connect government, industry, destinations, and community around one shared agenda: growing Indonesia's sport and special interest tourism from the ground up.
Who We Are
Asosiasi Wisata Olahraga dan Minat Khusus Indonesia, the Indonesia Sport and Special Interest Tourism Association, was founded on 23 June 2023 on a simple premise: the country's sport and special interest tourism potential is scattered across ministries, provinces, federations, and communities that rarely talk to each other. ISSITA exists to close that gap: connecting stakeholders, developing destinations and communities, and promoting Indonesia's sport tourism story to the world.
We are not a travel agency, a government office, or a media outlet. We are the connective layer between all of them.
ISSITAthe connector
Three pillars
Bringing together government, industry, destinations, communities, and academia around a shared sport tourism agenda.
Strengthening destinations and communities through programs, training, certification, and capacity building.
Positioning Indonesia's sport and special interest tourism to national and international audiences.
What ISSITA Is Not
ISSITA is a connector, not an operator. Understanding this boundary is key to how we work with partners.
ISSITA connects and supports events. It doesn't produce or run them directly.
ISSITA doesn't book trips or sell tourism packages to the public.
ISSITA facilitates partnerships and access. It isn't a source of event funding.
